A few months ago, I received an email from Filippo Berio asking if I would be interested to join their Food Lovers Campaign. This pizza is adapted from the recipe used by the staff at Roberta’s restaurant in Brooklyn, who make their tomato sauce simply by whizzing together canned tomatoes, a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. This is a simple sponge cake recipe – you can serve it plain sandwiched with jam to make a Victoria sponge cake, or fill with buttercream for a birthday cake.
A few blenders only require a tiny bit of liquid while some may need a little more for vegetable smoothie recipes. And as if by magic, this warm and fragrant alchemical creation called bread appears. Bubbly beer keeps the batter light to let the flavor of the chicken shine through.
To the bread mixture, add in the egg yolks, butter, vanilla, raisins, sugar, cloves, lemon/orange rind and the apples.
